some of the land. both of the photos are looking towards the lake. a big sky, a big lake, and a str0ng northwestern wind.
fried potatoes and pike, (left). fried moose marrow on homemade bread with sea salt (right).  the best food is fresh wild food you go out and get yourself.
pictures taken while i was out wandering around hunting prairie chicken. i'll be sure to get some pictures up of one as soon as possible.

some of the bush here.  it is thicker in parts, but very flat and mostly spruce.  this picture was taken this morning while i was hunting for prairie chickens.  i only saw two, and didn't get either, although i hit one with a sling shot. i thought that it was going to go down, but it made off. apparently they will be more abundant in a few weeks.

some pictures from a couple of weeks back, a string of lakers, and then a laker and a brookie i caught a different day. the brookie was caught down river from here, beautiful fish.

two of four lakers i caught last weekend. it was rainy out, super rough water, waves as his big as the boat, the sky looked like india ink slapshed on wet paper.

-rebel baitfish series, wally diver 7-10, unknown.
-rebel pop-r, heddon the crazy crawler, old charter

In a matter of hours we ended up with something like 20 fish, and left the net down overnight.  There was another 5o fish in the net upon our return the next day.  For the most part we were catching walleye, some trout, and whitefish.

pulling the net in.

putting the net out.

getting the net ready.
I caught a duck.  I wish I had pictures or video of the actual process, but am left only with this photo.  Imagine me, leaning over the front of a boat yelling and pointing which direction to go after a swimming duck and then doing an impression of Crosby when I pull up the net with the duck in it.  The people I was with originally claimed to catch them all the time, but after I actually did, admitted that they had been joking, and were laughing their asses off.  I think i impressed them.
